Panaji: Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India, Girish Chandra Murmu has allayed fears about job losses due to the use of Artificial Intelligence(AI) in auditing. He said on the contrary, this technology is offering avenues for employment. 

Addressing a news conference on Day 2 of the SAI20 summit in Panaji yesterday, he said AI together with the blue economy, will lead to more job creation. He added that the demand for talent in AI and machine learning has grown. He highlighted the importance of Responsible Artificial Intelligence for



good governance, transparency and accountability. 

Mr Murmu also laid emphasis on forging close cooperation among the Supreme Audit Institutions(SAIs) of G20 nations for sharing of knowledge, and capacity building on the blue economy. He said it is necessary to learn how to integrate the blue economy because of its cross-cutting nature.
   
To a question on the digital audit being conducted by the CAG of India, Mr. Murmu said it has increased integrity of data, and the pace of data analysis.
