In poll-bound West Bengal, campaigning for the 4th phase of the poll has come to an end at Alipurduar and Cooch Behar districts this evening.
Altogether 14 seats will go to polls in the 4th phase in the 2 North Bengal districts. Several senior leaders including BJP's National President J P Nadda campaigned today to woo the voters in North Bengal.
Official sources said that all Covid 19 protocols including wearing of masks, thermal screening would be followed during the polling on Saturday.
News reports, Over 12 lakh 44 thousand voters
would decide the political fate of 42 candidates including 3 women in Alipurduar district.
BJP and TMC have fielded candidates in all 5 seats in the Alipurduar district. The Congress is contesting in 2 seats while the other members of the Sanjukta Morcha are contesting in the remaining 3 seats.
Several senior leaders of all the contesting parties have campaigned to woo the voters for their candidates. Development of tea workers, granting of ST status, ethnic identity, and infrastructure developments are some of the issues that have been raised by political parties.
