Chandigarh: Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has resigned from Congress and announced his new political party Punjab Lok Congress.
In a tweet yesterday, Captain Amarinder Singh said, he has sent his resignation to Congress President Sonia Gandhi listing reasons for the resignation. He said, registration
of the party is pending with Election Commission and the party symbol will be approved later.
He was annoyed with the party's high command for backing the Congress Punjab President Navjot Singh Sidhu and ignoring him. He had resigned as the Chief Minister in September.
