In an aim to curb pollution across the National Capital Region and adjoining areas, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has updated the clauses mentioned under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).

In the revised plan, the commission has directed the discontinuation of physical classes for children up to Class 5th across Delhi and the districts of Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and Gautam Buddha Nagar, mandating that all such classes shift to online mode. It added that state governments may decide on implementing the clause for other NCR districts.

The newly revised GRAP also introduces

additional measures for the NCR region, including Clause 12 of the third phase of the plan. This clause directs the Delhi Government and the state governments of adjoining areas specifically Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and Gautam Buddh Nagar to implement staggered timings for public offices and municipal bodies.

Under the fourth phase of the plan, the commission has made it mandatory for Delhi and the districts of Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddh Nagar to suspend physical classes for students in Classes 6th to 9th and Class 11th with lessons to be conducted in an online mode.
