A police case has been filed against Congress leader Digvijaya Singh for his controversial remarks on Telangana Police. The senior Congress leader sparked row after he claimed that the Telangana Police was trying to radicalise Muslim youth by urging them to join a “bogus” ISIS website.
The Telangana government had even asked Digvijaya Singh to tender an apology for his comments. “Telangana Police has set up a bogus ISIS site which is radicalising Muslim Youths and encouraging them to become ISIS
Modules,” he had said in a tweet. BJP leaders including Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu lashed out at the Congress leader and asked him to furnish evidence or apologise.
Digvijaya Singh who was recently removed as the Congress Goa in-charge had also asked if Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had permitted the cops to radicalise the Muslim youth. He further went on to ask Rao to resign if he did authorise the police to “trap Muslim youth.” Singh also urged the chief minister to investigate the matter.
