Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha on Friday said that the popularity of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has rattled the Narendra Modi government, which has unleashed agencies like the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the AAP leaders to finish him.

"After the AAP won a majority government in Punjab [this year], people across the country began to see Kejriwal as an alternative to Modi. The BJP and Modi are scared of the rising political stature of Kejriwal," said Chadha at a press conference as the CBI raided Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s residence over alleged irregularities in the implementation of Delhi excise policy 202122.

Chadha said that people earlier asked Modi versus who. "...now [they are] saying Modi versus Kejriwal. After AAP’s victory in

Punjab, people of the country are saying that they have found an alternative; ...an alternative to Modi in Kejriwal," said Chadha.

The AAP leader further said that the BJP wants to destroy the party's models of health and education.

"This CBI raid is nothing but vendetta politics of the BJP to curb CM Arvind Kejriwal's popularity and hinder Delhi's health and education model," he said.

Chadha said that the CBI had raided the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the past and found just "four mufflers" there.

"When raids were conducted at Arvind Kejriwal's residence earlier, they found four mufflers," he said, adding, "During raids at Manish Sisodia's residence, they will get four pencils, notebooks, and a geometry box."
