Kolkata: The CBI conducted searches at 12 locations, including the residences of senior Minister Firhad Hakim and TMC MLA Madan Mitra in connection with its probe into alleged irregularities in recruitments made by civic bodies in West Bengal on Sunday. Firhad Hakim, the Minister of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, is also the Mayor of Kolkata.
A team of CBI officers reached his residence in south Kolkata's Chetla area along with a large contingent of central forces Sunday morning.
A CBI team also
searched the residence of Madan Mitra, a former minister and the MLA of Kamarhati in North 24 Parganas district, in Bhawanipur area, around 3 km from Firhad Hakim's residence in Chetla.
As per CBI sources, the officers yesterrday conducted searches at around 12 places, including residences of public servants and others at Kolkata, Kanchrapara, Barrackpore, Halisahar, Dumdum, North DumDum, Krishnanagar, Taki, Kamarhati, Chetla and Bhowanipore in an ongoing investigation of a case.
