The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved three projects of Ministry of Railways with total cost of around ₹7,927 crore rupees. These projects include 160 kilometer long Manmad – Jalgaon fourth line, 131 kilometer long Bhusawal – Khandwa third and fourth line and 84 kilometer long Prayagraj – Manikpur third Line. The proposed multi-tracking projects will ease operations and reduce congestion, providing the much-required infrastructural development on the busiest sections. 

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the 2 thousand 773 crore rupees



Manmad- Jalgaon project will increase capacity for passengers movement and cargo movement from the ports in Maharashtra. He added that the 3 thousand 514 crore rupees Bhusawal- Khandwa project will increase capacity for passengers while the one thousand 640 crore rupees Prayagraj- Manikpur project will connect Purvanchal of Uttar Pradesh with Baghelkhand of Madhya Pradesh and decongest the high density corridor. These are essential routes for transportation of commodities such as agriculture products, fertilizer, coal, steel, cement, containers among others.
