Paryatan Parv, a festival of Tourism is beginning all over the country from today. The event is being organized by the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with other Central Ministries, State Governments and Stakeholders. It is being organized with the objective of drawing focus on the benefits of tourism, showcasing the cultural diversity of the country and reinforcing the principle of Tourism for All.
Paryatan Parv which will begin at the Humayun's Tomb in Delhi, will continue till 25th of this month. It will have three main components, Dekho Apna Desh, Tourism for All and Tourism & Governance. The components aims to encourage Indians to visit their own country, tourism events at sites across all states and interactive Sessions and workshops with stakeholders on
varied themes.
During Paryatan Parv, cultural Programmes of Dance, Music, Theatre, Story Telling, Sensitisation Programmes for Stakeholders around the Sites, Tourism Exhibitions, Showcasing Culture, Cuisine and Handicrafts and Handlooms, Guided Heritage Walks will be organised all over the country. Video, Photograph and Blog Competitions of sites visited during the Event, Tourism related Quiz, Essay, Debate and Painting Competitions for Students will also be organized.
In the overseas markets, the Ministry of External Affairs through the Indian Missions overseas will conduct outreach programmes to encourage people to visit India, with special focus on Persons of Indian Origins who have never visited the country.
