The Centre has approved nearly 1,600 crore rupees for Jammu and Kashmir under skill development initiative 'Himayat' to train one lakh 24,000 local youths in vocational courses.
Jammu and Kashmir Rural Development Minister Abdul Haq Khan said in Srinagar that under the reanimated Himayat programme, youths from both rural and urban areas of the
state would be imparted training in various job-intensive vocational courses over the next three years. They will be given training for six-months, nine-months and one year job-oriented courses.
Mr. Khan said, the aspirants would be trained in and outside the state. He said, a provision has been kept for foreign placements as well.
