Centre govt to launch ‘Sahkar Taxi’ to compete with Ola, Uber, Rapido

The Union government has announced to launch new cooperative-based taxi service called “Sahkar Taxi” that will provide bike, cab, and auto services, to compete with popular ride-hailing platforms like Ola, Uber, and Rapido.

The move is aimed at providing an alternative transport service



where drivers can earn directly without sharing profits with large corporations.

“Sahkar Taxi will register two-wheeler taxis, auto-rickshaws, and four-wheeler taxis across the country,” Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah said, while announcing the initiative in Parliament.
