Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr L Murugan yesterday clarified that the Centre never denied fund allocation to Tamil Nadu. Addressing media in Madurai yesterday, Dr Murugan said any central scheme will be allotted to any state subject to fulfilling the crucial conditions.
Accusing Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin of misleading the people on the National Education Policy, the Minister said that people will not fall prey to the cheap language politics of the ruling DMK as it
happened in 1960s. The Minister added that NEP insisted on providing primary education in one’s mother tongue.
Dr Murugan further said that the people of the state want to learn and progress, but DMK Government is a hurdle in implementing the National Education policy that envisages an equitable , inclusive and plural society. The Minister wondered why Tamil Nadu which initially agreed to implement the Centrally sponsored initiatives, backtracked later.
