Chhattisgarh Governor Balram Das Tandon passed away in Raipur on Tuesday at the age of 90.
Tandon was admitted in a hospital in the state capital earlier today, following a sudden decline in his health.
All the senior and well-known doctors of the medical college and the state were kept on alert for the governor.
On August 13, the governor was present at the
rehearsal of the program that was to be held on Independence Day. He was going to be a part of the program.
Tandon assumed office as the Governor of Chhattisgarh on July 25, 2014.
Born in 1927, Tondon was a key player in establishing the foothold of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Punjab. Apart from being a politician, he was a sportsperson as well. He was also part of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
