Raipur: Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (JCC), founded by former chief minister late Ajit Jogi, on Friday released its first list of candidates for the November assembly elections in the state.

JCC president Amit Jogi and sitting party MLA Renu Jogi may be fielded in the ensuing assembly polls in the state and their names will be announced in the coming lists of candidates, JCC spokesman Bhagwan Nayak said.

The party declared candidates for 16 assembly constituencies which are going to assembly elections in the first phase of elections in the state on November seven.

Chhattisgarh is going to assembly elections in two phases on November seven and November 17.

While 20

assembly seats are going to polls in the first phase, the remaining 70 seats are going to polls on November 17.

JCC which had fought the 2018 assembly polls in Chhattisgarh along with Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is going alone in the November assembly polls in the state.

The JCC-BSP alliance had secured seven assembly seats in the last polls.

While JCC had bagged five seats, BSP had won two seats.

However, four JCC MLAs had quit the party over a period of time.

The former chief minister had floated the regional party, JCC, after snapping his three-decade-old tie with Congress in 2016.
