The Chief Executive of Afghanistan, Dr Abdullah Abdullah will pay a working visit of three days to India from today. During his visit, he will call on President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The External Affairs Minister would call on the visiting dignitary.
Today, Dr. Abdullah will inaugurate India-Afghanistan Trade and Investment Conference along with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju.
It will feature Afghan entities from economic, agriculture, health, education and energy sectors seeking trade and investment opportunities with
India.Consumer goods from Afghanistan will also be on display. Dr Abdullah Abdullah will also address an event at Indian Council for World Affairs on Friday.
India and Afghanistan enjoy deep rooted civilisational links and India has been partnering with the Government and the people of Afghanistan in their efforts to build a stable, peaceful, prosperous, united and pluralistic country.
The visit of the Chief Executive follows the recently concluded second meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council which was co-chaired by the External Affairs Minister of India and the Foreign Minister of Afghanistan.
