Christmas celebrations in Goa to begin tonight

In Goa, Christmas celebrations are about to commence tonight. Goa is a famous tourist destination and local as well as foreign tourists come to Goa to participate in Christmas and New year’s celebration events but this year due to the restrictions on events owing to Covid pandemic, the normal mood is affected and programmes are curtailed.

Christmas is celebrated in Goa with great enthusiasm. Midnight mass is a Christmas tradition in Goa.

Midnight masses are organized in churches and chapels of Goa.



Screens are erected for the same. Special mass is organized for senior citizens at the backdrop of Covid pandemic. 

With hymns and carols around, the fervor of festive season is felt in Goa State. Lights and decorations, beautifully lit stars are salient features of the festival.

Food items like bebinca and dodol during Christmas are very famous in Goa.

Police have made elaborate security and traffic arrangements.
