Crime Investigation Department (CID), who launched an investigation into the recent allegations of Eamcet-II question paper leak have confirmed the leak.
CID officials booked criminal cases against three brokers who allegedly struck a Rs 15 crore deal and have been taken into custody. The officials revealed that the question paper was leaked two days ahead of the exam and that Rs 10 lakhs were collected from each of the 30 students. The CID stated that all
the 30 students and their parents involved would be arrested.
The cases have been registered under section 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust), 408 (criminal breach of trust by clerk or servant), 420 (cheating), 120 (B) (punishment of criminal conspiracy) read with section 8 of AP Public Examination prevention of malpractice Act of 1987. The CID probe into the alleged leak has unravelled wide-ranging disparities in ranks.
