The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has suspended its classes till Friday and asked students to vacate five of its hostels following on-campus violence that injured at least six students on Monday night. The clashes broke out between BHU resident doctors and hostellers allegedly over non-allotment of bed to a
patient.
Some motorbikes and a security booth were also set on fire. Security personnel are deployed at the campus, and the situation is now under control. In a statement, Vice Chancellor of University termed the incident as unfortunate and appealed students to remain calm.
