Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has requested all states to provide medical oxygen and oxygen cylinders to the national capital. Hospitals in Delhi are turning back Covid-19 patients owing to the shortage of medical oxygen.

In fact, the GTB Hospital and Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital in Delhi slashed the number of beds for Covid-19 patients by half on Saturday, citing an acute shortage of medical oxygen. Doctors from across Delhi have been sending out SOS messages on social media signalling a near-breakdown of the healthcare

infrastructure.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Saturday, "I am writing to all CMs requesting them to provide oxygen to Delhi, if they have spare."

"Though Central govt. is also helping us, the severity of corona is such that all available resources are proving inadequate," the Delhi Chief Minister went on to add.

In his letter, CM Kejriwal said that there is no production of medical oxygen and no factory for the same in Delhi. "In such a time, please help in any way you can," he wrote.
