Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu launched Chandranna Bima Yojana, an insurance scheme by the State government for the working class people on the occasion of May Day yesterday in Vijayawada. Speaking on the occasion, he said about 1.5 crore workers in the state would be covered under the scheme by which Rs 5 lakh would be paid if the insured worker met with an accidental death, Rs 5 lakh in case of permanent disability and 3 lakh rupees for partial disability.
The Chief Minister asked officials to conduct enumeration and enroll all the eligible workers
under the scheme. He said, government would earmark Rs 132 crore for its implementation.
He appealed the labour unions and workers not to create problems in industries for the sake of their trade unions. Mr Naidu announced that the incentives to industries by State government would henceforth be transferred to the accounts of the industries and informed that online inspection of industries would be introduced to keep their functioning transparent. He also said, a single desk system was adopted in the State to give permissions for the establishment of industries.
