Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu ordered a thorough investigation into the death of Christian pastor Praveen Pagadala, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances near Rajahmundry on Tuesday morning.
The 45-year-old preacher, known for his religious work in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, had been travelling to attend Christian conventions in Chagallu, East Godavari district, on a two-wheeler when his body was discovered on the outskirts of the city.
In an official press release, the Chief Minister expressed his grief over the pastor’s death and directed the authorities to conduct a multi-pronged investigation into the incident. Naidu also spoke to Director
General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta regarding the case.
Following the discovery of Pagadala’s body, East Godavari district police registered a case under BNSS Section 194. Additional Superintendent of Police AV Subba Raju confirmed that the circumstances surrounding Pagadala’s death appeared suspicious and assured that the matter would be thoroughly examined.
Meanwhile, YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy described the pastor’s death as “deeply saddening”. Raising concerns over suspicions expressed by Pagadala’s close associates and relatives, Reddy urged the government to ensure an impartial inquiry into the matter. He also extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
