Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced that general public in Mumbai will get free health services from October 2 through Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray clinics and polyclinics. He said that there will be 227 free healthcare centres in Mumbai and 50 centres will be launched in the first phase.
Around 139 medical tests will be done free of cost at these centres. These clinics and polyclinics will be run by BMC and 50 clinics are ready to be operationalized from October 2. There will be 34 polyclinics and services of
specialists will be available at these centres.
The clinics will be operated in two formats, portacabin and concrete construction. There will be one clinic for 25 to 30 thousand people. Each clinic will have one MBBS doctor, nurse, pharmacist and multipurpose worker. The clinic will be run in two sessions from 7 am to 2 pm and 3 pm to 10 pm according to the convenience of the patients. The polyclinic will cater to around 2.5 lakh to 3 lakh patients and the registration will be made online.
