CM Jagan Mohan Reddy decides to Provide Water for Rabi in Godavari Delta

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to provide irrigation water for the Rabi crop sown sin the Godavari delta. Accordingly, he has instructed collectors of the respective districts to prepare their plan.

The CM has ordered that steps be taken to ensure proper flow of irrigation water in canals. For the purpose, shutters must be repaired in case there are any problems. He directed collectors to finalise the dates when water will be released in consultation with farmer associations of various districts in the Godavari delta.

The Chief Minister asked collectors to take measures at the village level and create awareness among farmers on using the



water released carefully.

Sources said It has been decided to follow the available methods, including Warabandi (weekly system) for effective water management, so that existing water resources are not wasted and water reaches the tail-end areas.

Rajanagaram MLA Dadishetty Raja, Kakinada Rural MLA Kurasala Kannababu, Anaparthi MLA Dr. S Suryanarayana Reddy, Mummidivaram MLA Satish, Ungutur MLA Vasubabu, Bhimavaram MLA Vasubabu, collectors of five districts, principal secretary (Irrigation) Shashi Bhushan Kumar, secretaries to CM Dhanunjay Reddy and Revu Mutyalaraju and agricultural commissioner C. Harikiran were present.
