Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would participate in the Minorities Welfare Day/National Education Day celebrations here on Saturday and present awards.
The CM would start from Tadepalli to the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada at 10.20 am. After presenting the awards and addressing the event, he will return to Tadepalli.
The YSRC Medical Wing has called upon the minorities to join the celebrations in large numbers. Mehboob Sheikh, vice president of the YSRC medical wing, said the state
government has made elaborate preparations to celebrate the birth anniversary of Abul Kalam Azad, the first education minister of independent India, at the IGMC Stadium.
He urged the minorities to participate in this programme on a large scale. He recalled that late leader YS Rajasekhara Reddy as chief minister gave Muslims four per cent reservations in government jobs. Chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy too has done a lot for the Muslims politically, socially and in financial terms, he stressed.
