Vijayawada: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would perform Maha Purnahuti on the last day of the ongoing Chandi, Rudra, Rajasyamala, Sudarshana Sahita Sri Lakshmi Maha Yagam at 11.38 am on Wednesday.

Deputy chief minister (endowments) Kottu Satyanarayana told the media on the sidelines of the ongoing Maha Yagam on its fourth day here on Monday that the Maha Yagam was successful.

The chief minister would perform the Maha Purnahuti on the last day of the Yagam on Wednesday. Elaborate arrangements were being made for the closing day of the Maha Yagnam when there would be a free food distribution



programme.

Three counters would be set up for distribution of Yaga Prasadam  and Anna Prasadam. A large number of devotees from Vijayawada, Guntur and other parts of AP would arrive in the city to witness the event.

The deputy CM dismissed the "misinformation campaign" on the quality of ghee being used in the ongoing Maha Yagam, and said they were getting this from the cows brought from Rajasthan for the religious event.

He said the Simhachala Sri Varahalakshmi Narasimha Swamy Varla Kalyanotsvam would be held on Tuesday.
