Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will present the Dr YSR Lifetime Achievement and the Dr YSR Achievement Awards-2023 at the A Convention Centre here in the presence of Governor S. Abdul Naseer on Wednesday.
A high-power screening committee has announced the list of institutions and individuals receiving the honours.
The Chief Minister noted that for the third year in a row, the AP government is conferring its highest awards to the "extraordinary among the common people and humanitarian figures."
In sports, Pullela Gopichand (Guntur district) and Karanam Malleswari (Srikakulam district) would receive the awards.
The Dr YSR Lifetime Achievement Award carries a cash of Rs 10 lakh, a
bronze figurine of Dr YSR, a souvenir and a commendation letter. A cash prize of Rs 5 lakh, a souvenir and a commendation letter are awarded under the Dr YSR Achievement Award.
The awards are being given for the third successive year.
Government adviser (public affairs) Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, national media adviser Devulapalli Amar, adviser (communications) G.V.D. Krishna Mohan, Chief Minister’s political secretary Muthyala Raju, and PR commissioner Vijayakumar Reddy and principal secretaries of various departments were members of the screening committee.
Information and PR commissioner Vijayakumar Reddy said the Chief Minister would address the gathering.
