Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday urged the Union government to double Haj quota
for the Telangana state in view of the increased number of applications
received to perform Haj pilgrimage in Mecca this year.

Foreign Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, the Chief Minister said that the Centre
has allotted only 2,532 Haj quota whereas the total number of applications
received were more than 17,000.
He requested the
Minister to increase the quota to 4,500 so that more number of applicants can
perform Haj.
