West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee yesterday chaired an administrative meeting at Nabanna, the state secretariat. She expressed her anguish over the illegal encroachment of government lands in various places.
Mamata Banerjee asked the district administrations to be strict on the issue otherwise action would be taken against the concerned officials. She said that a committee would be formed headed by the
home secretary to inquire into the issue of illegal encroachment of the government lands.
Expressing concern over many false accounts in the cooperative banks in the State, Mamta Banerjee said that those accounts would be enquired into and the money would be confiscated. She also asked the officials to strictly implement various welfare schemes of the state government.
