Assam Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal discussed with senior officials on setting the target of construction of four lakh houses under Prime Minister Awas Yojna in the current fiscal year. In another meeting with senior officials of the North East Frontier railways, the Chief Minister appealed railways to appoint youth of North East in Grade three and Grade four vacant posts. He also asked railways to complete the doubling of track from Lumding to Guwahati as soon as possible. North East Frontier Railway officials said that electrification of railways from Katihar to Bongaigaon stretch will be completed by March 2018.
