The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized 7.56 kilograms of cocaine, worth over 75 crore rupees, at IGI Airport in New Delhi and arrested one person. In a statement, the Ministry of Finance said that in a significant operation against drug trafficking, the DRI inspected the baggage of an inbound passenger from Dubai yesterday.
After a
thorough inspection, the team found 10 packets of white-colored powder concealed within the inner layers of five empty handbags. The packets tested positive for cocaine. The DRI is conducting further investigations to uncover the source of the drugs and identify any potential networks involved in the smuggling operation.
