Cold wave conditions have intensified in the northern states of the country. The Met department said fresh Western disturbances will impact Western Himalayan belt as well as the adjoining. So the cold wave will continue in North India as the New Year sets in. With these changes in weather, light rains or snowfall is predicted around Sunday. This spell is likely to last till 6th January.

Over the next 48 hours cold wave conditions will sweep over Himachal pradesh, Punjab,



Haryana, Chandigarh, UP, Rajasthan, Western MP and Delhi.

The Met department predicts dense or very dense fog in some pockets over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh and dense fog in isolated pockets over Bihar, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura over the next 2 days. Uttarakhand, West Madhya Pradesh will experience dense or very dense fog in some pockets over the next 24 hours.
