Cold wave grips North India

Cold wave continued to sweep many parts of North India with Leh in Ladakh region witnessing minus 8.3 degree Celsius. Jammu and Kashmir's Summer capital, Srinagar, recorded minus 3.3 degrees Celsius. One-way traffic resumed on the 300-km-long Jammu-Srinagar national highway after remaining suspended for three days due to heavy snowfall and landslides.

Intense cold wave conditions persisted in most parts of Himachal Pradesh even as day temperatures rose by few notches. Keylong and Kalpa in tribal



Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur districts recorded a low of minus 9.1 degrees Celsius and minus 5 degrees Celsius. Punjab and Haryana continued to reel under intense cold wave conditions even as dense fog and mist at several places disrupted road, rail and air traffic in the region.

Dense fog occurred at a few places over east Uttar Pradesh. The lowest minimum temperature recorded was 3.3 degrees Celsius at Agra. The night temperatures were below normal in some parts Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
