Conference of Governors & Lt.Governors underway

The 49th Conference of Governors and Lieutenant Governors is underway at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. 

President Ram Nath Kovind is presiding over by conference being attended by Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

Internal security, Clean India Mission, higher education and skill development are among the important agendas listed for the conference. 

The two-day conference will discuss



important thematic issues in various sessions. It will also see briefings and presentations on flagship programmes of the Centre as well as on internal security. 

Presentations will be made by the Vice Chairman and the CEO of NITI Aayog as well as by the National Security Advisor. 

The Governors will also discuss ideas on how to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
