New Delhi: The Congress on Thursday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to break his “silence” on sexual harassment allegations against BJP MP and WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, and accused him of trying to save his party’s leader.
India’s top wrestlers, including Vinesh Phogat, Olympic medallists Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik, are staging a
sit-in at Jantar Mantar here, demanding the arrest of Singh for allegedly sexually harassing seven women grapplers.
In a tweet in Hindi, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “Sportspersons who have brought laurels to the country by winning medals have been demanding justice for more than four months, but the prime minister is trying to save his MP.”
