New Delhi: Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad criticised the Congress on Tuesday for boycotting the Constitution Day celebrations in Parliament and said it was an "insult" to Bhim Rao Ambedkar.

Opposition parties, including the Congress and the Shiv Sena, skipped a joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament on Constitution Day to mark their

protest against the BJP's alleged high-handedness in Maharashtra.

"November 26 is Constitution Day and this day is above political differences. Congress' absence from Central Hall is an insult to Dr Ambedkar, the father of constitution, and this is nothing new.

Earlier also the party did the same thing by not giving him Bharat Ratna," Prasad said.

Mukhtar Says:
I was amazed to see once again the faces of BJP talking about constitution, a constituation they never honored. It has been proved often how they play with the constitution. Did they follow constitution when they abrogated article 370, did they follow spirit of the constitution when they interfered in Sharia law, did they follow when they demolished Babri Mosque, did they follow constitution when they muddled in Karnataka, other northern provinces, are they following constitution when they are playing games in Maharashtra. On the instruction of the PM, president rule was removed, a CM with no mandate was installed, now resigned. They should be ashamed of themselves. How many people died when demonization step was taken, where is the economy now, went decades behind by this Marawadis. Look at the plight of intellectuals. Where are they. They have maligned even the highest judicial institution. Shame shame shame shame on them.
