The Congress on Thursday denied reports of Kamal Nath resigning from the post of Madhya Pradesh party president following the party's defeat in the recent assembly election against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Earlier, reports suggested that Kamal Nath had tendered his resignation from the post of Madhya Pradesh Congress

President.

Notably, Nath met Congress party chief Mallikarjun Kharge and other senior leaders in Delhi on Tuesday.

The Congress lost the Madhya Pradesh election to the ruling BJP, which bagged 163 of the 230 assembly seats in the state. The Congress won 66 seats, finishing a distant second in the November 17 polls.
