Bhopal: In Madhya Pradesh, the ruling BJP has achieved great success in the two-phase urban body elections, while the Congress has also managed to improve its performance. Counting of votes for the second phase of urban body elections in the state concluded yesterday.
After nearly 50 days of Panchayati and urban body elections in Madhya Pradesh, the situation has become clear. Out of the total 16 municipal corporations, the ruling BJP has won 9 while the Congress has managed to make its mayors in 5 municipal corporations. One seat has been won
by the Aam Aadmi Party and another by the rebel candidate of BJP. The best part of this election is that in 9 out of 16 municipal corporations, the command will be in the hands of women.
The BJP has also won more than 85 percent seats of the municipal bodies. Whereas only 13 percent of the municipalities have come in the share of Congress.
Aam Aadmi Party and AIMIM Asaduddin Owaisi's party have also been successful in opening their account in these elections.
