New Delhi: Congress leader Pawan Khera has been released on bail in a case involving his alleged remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.
The Supreme Court had directed Delhi court to grant interim bail to the Congress leader.
Mr Pawan Khera was arrested by the Assam Police at the Delhi airport, after an FIR was lodged against him for his comments on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A case was registered by Assam Police in Haflong. Delhi Police said it provided assistance to
the Assam Police as per its request. Pawan Khera was on his way to Raipur to attend a party function. Congress called the incident “undemocratic” and dictatorial and has moved the Supreme Court.
The apex court also issued a notice to Assam, and Uttar Pradesh Police to club all the FIRs against Khera. Earlier talking to media in New Delhi, BJP party spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said, people will teach lessons to Congress leaders for their undignified comments.
