Congress MP from Chandrapur Lok Sabha constituency of Maharashtra, Balu alias Suresh Dhanorkar, passed away this morning in Medanta Hospital in Gurugram, Haryana.

The lone MP from Congress in Maharashtra, Dhanorkar was 47 years old. On Friday, he was admitted to a hospital in Nagpur for a kidney stone surgery.

Due to complications, he was referred to Medanta Hospital for further treatment. Dhanorkar's mortal remains will be brought to his home in Varora today, and the last rites will be performed



tomorrow.

Senior Congress leaders from the State have expressed their condolences on his demise. He leaves behind his wife and two children. His wife Pratibha Dhanorkar is also a Congress MLA from the Varora constituency.

Dhanorkar was born on June 4, 1975 in Yavatmal district. In 2014, he was elected as an MLA of Shiv Sena. He resigned from the Shiv Sena in 2019, and was elected as a Congress MP from Chandrapur Vani Arni Lok Sabha constituency.
