Congress Party forms alliance with United Peoples' Party in Assam

In Assam, the ruling Congress party has formed an alliance with United Peoples’ Party, UPP ahead of upcoming assembly polls. Talking to newspersons in Guwahati yesterday, state Congress President Anjan Dutta said, the party has given 4 seats to UPP while in 9 seats there



would be friendly contest. Meanwhile, all the major parties are in the final process of announcing candidates list. Yesterday was the last date for Congress ticket aspirants to apply for a party ticket. Assembly Polls in the state will be held on 4th and 11th of April.
