The Congress on Monday went all weapons blasting against RSS boss Mohan Bhagwat for recommending that his framework were preferable arranged over the armed force and requested a conciliatory sentiment.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi terminated the primary salvo naming Bhagwat's comments as an "affront" to each Indian and the national tricolor and ill bred towards the armed force.

"The RSS chief's speech is an insult to every Indian, because it disrespects those who have died for our nation. It is an insult to our flag because it insults every soldier who ever saluted it. Shame on you Mr Bhagwat, for disrespecting our martyrs and our army," Rahul said on Twitter.

Youth Congress activists took out a march to the RSS office in Jhandewalan area in central Delhi to protest against Bhagwat's remarks.

Addressing a meeting in Muzzafarpur, Bihar, on Sunday,Bhagwat had said the RSS has the ability to prepare an "army" to fight for the country

within three days, if such a situation arises.

As the remarks triggered a controversy, the RSS issued a statement saying Bhagwat's comments were misrepresented.

Senior Congress leader Anand Sharma hit out at Bhagwat and wanted a clarification from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Such statements, particularly at a time when an army camp is under terror attack, are objectionable. These remarks are a direct insult to the Indian tricolour and the army," Sharma told a press conference here.

He demanded a clarification from the prime minister on whether the government was thinking of handing over national security to the RSS other than the Indian Army.

"Nothing could be more insulting. We as a democracy cannot allow any organisation and institution to be given any space when it comes to national defence," he said.

The Congress' cyber warriors took to social media to hit out at Bhagwat and the RSS.
