Congress wants Uma to resign

Wed 31 May 2017, 05:17:47
The Congress on Tuesday demanded the resignation of Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti, who has been charged with criminal conspiracy in the Babri Masjid demolition case.

"One of the accused, Uma Bharti, is a Union Cabinet minister. Having been charge-sheeted, she must resign," said Randeep Singh Surjewala, in-charge of AICC

communication department.

He hoped that after 25 years of the mosque's demolition, justice would be done and the guilty punished in accordance with the law. He said that on December 8, 2011, the apex Court had ordered that hearing be held on day-to-day basis, but since 2013, 185 adjournments have taken place in the case.
