Congress workers hold protest march over Kolkata rape-murder

Congress workers took out a protest march in Kolkata over the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in the city.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with doctors and nurses staging protests in Kolkata and across the country, demanding



capital punishment against the accused and steps to improve doctors' security.

A civic volunteer, Sanjoy Roy, linked to Kolkata Police was arrested in connection with the incident.

The Calcutta High Court has handed over the case to the CBI for further investigation.
