New Delhi: Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will address the “National Symposium on Production of Improved and Traditional Seeds through Cooperative Sector” in New Delhi today. The event will be organised by the Bharatiya Beej Sahakari Samiti Limited (BBSSL). The Minister will unveil the Logo, Website, and Brochure of BBSSL and distribute membership certificates to BBSSL members.
During the symposium, key topics such as the objectives of BBSSL, the role of seeds in the productivity and nutrition of
crops, and the role of cooperative societies in the upliftment of small and marginal farmers will be discussed.
The Ministry said in a statement that quality seed production and distribution through BBSSL will increase agricultural production in the country. It added that this will create more employment opportunities, reduce dependence on imported seeds, boost the rural economy, promote “Make in India” and pave the way for ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’.
