Kolkata: At a time when the coronavirus fears have gripped the entire country, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, on Wednesday, alleged that panic over the novel virus is nothing but a tactic to divert the attention of people from the recent Delhi violence.
"People are screaming corona, corona. Don’t panic. Some (media) channels are
trying to cover up the Delhi violence with the coronavirus panic. It’s a disease and people should not panic... Those killed in Delhi violence did not die due to coronavirus, they were killed by the BJP. Had people died of coronavirus, we could have still understood that they died because of disease that does not have treatment as yet,” the chief minister said.
