In Uttar Pradesh, counting of votes for Phulpur and Gorakhpur Lok Sabha seats bye elections is underway. In Gorakhpur BJP candidate Upendra Shukla is leading by a margin of above 3200 votes at the end of three rounds of counting. In Phulpur BJP nominee Kaushalendra Singh Patel is trailing by a margin of about 3000 votes against his SP rival Nagendra Singh Patel.

Polling was held last Sunday. A total of 32 candidates,



including 3 women, are in the fray.

In Bihar, Pradeep Kumar Singh of BJP is leading over his nearest rival Sarfaraz Alam of RJD by margin of over 4,000 votes on Araria Lok Sabha seat. Rinki Rani Pandey of BJP is leading by margin of around 2,800 votes on Bhabhua assembly seat.

Kumar Krishna Mohan of RJD is leading by a margin of over 2,100 votes on Jahanabad assembly seat.
