The Dahanu sessions court on Thursday extended the police custody by 14 days of the 101 accused in the mob lynching of two seers and their driver at Maharashtra’s Palghar district near Mumbai.
All the accused were arrested on April 18th following which they were sent to police custody till April 30th.
The three deceased were travelling in a car on the night of April
16th when a group of men stopped them at Gadchinchle village at Palghar district and then pelted stones at the victim’s car before pulling them out of the car and allegedly beating them to death with stick and rods.
Total 110 people were arrested out of which 9 were juveniles who were later sent to juvenile remand home at Bhiwandi.
