Following the video conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the recent rise in COVID19 cases in the country along with other chief ministers on Wednesday, Sikkim chief minister Prem Singh Tamang has announced a night curfew after 10 pm covering restaurants, bars, discos, pubs and gyms, while vehicular movement will not be allowed after 10:30 pm with immediate effect.
The chief
minister has appealed to people to regularly wear masks and continue to follow social distancing and COVID19 protocols.
The Prime Minister had stressed on strengthening COVID19 protocols for prevention of the disease.
With seven new cases of COVID19 reported in Sikkim as of Tuesday, total cases stood at 6191, of which 44 were active.
