In the wake of rising Covid cases, the state government has announced more restrictions in Kerala. The next two Sundays (January 23 and 30) will see complete lockdown. There will be travel restrictions and only essential services will be allowed to function.
On Sunday, malls and theatres will remain closed. All classes will be held online. The classes for students of Class 10 and 12 will also be conducted online. There will be no classes in schools starting from
Friday.
Each district administration can decide on new restrictions based on the number of cases. Religious functions can be held online. Restrictions on theatres and bars can be decided by respective district collectors.
Thiruvananthapuram, Wayanad, Palakkad, Idukki and Pathanamthitta districts are likely to impose major restrictions including a ban on public meetings. In Ernakulam, Alappuzha and Kollam public meetings can be held with only 50 people in attendance.
