In Kerala, the Crime Branch wing of the state police has arrested the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee President K Sudhakaran in connection with a cheating case involving fake antique dealer Monson Mavunkal. The arrest came after over seven hours of grilling at the Crime Branch office at Kalamassery in Kochi.
Immediately after his arrest, the KPCC President was
released on bail, following a Kerala High Court order in this regard a couple of days ago.
Speaking to media persons after emerging from the Crime Branch office, Mr Sudhakaran said he has full faith in the judiciary and is ready to accept the court's verdict.
The KPCC President was arraigned as an accused in the cheating case after the petitioners who lodged a complaint against Monson of duping them of ten crore rupees, accused that they had paid another 25 lakh rupees in the presence of Mr Sudhakaran.
